\n\nJob Details:
\n• Work 36 or 48 hour shifts in Emergency Department
\n• Patient ratios of 1:5 across all shifts
\n• 2 years of experience required; Level I Trauma experience preferred
\n• Travel experience strongly preferred but will consider candidates with 2+ years Level I experience
\n• Weekend coverage required as needed (weekend days: Saturday/Sunday; weekend nights: Friday/Saturday/Sunday)
\n• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH (can be pending), PALS, TNCC (must have before submission)
\n• New Mexico license can be pending at time of submission
\n• No on-call requirements
\n• Floating expectations: optional to Pediatric ED, required to Adult PCUs based on staffing needs, potential floating to ED Holding and Trauma
\n• Guaranteed contracted hours per week with facility allowed to call off 3 times during 13-week assignment
\n• Medication administration including IV medications, documentation and communication of clinical findings
\n• Handle approximately 60-80% admission rate with many ED rooms serving as "ED Holding"
\n• Must have trauma/resuscitation experience and be comfortable with Level I trauma procedures
\n• Scrub color: Black (not provided by facility)
\n• Charting system: Cerner
\n• 24-hour orientation period
\n• No RQI certifications accepted
Facility:
\nThis major academic medical center serves as a Level I Trauma Center and Children's Hospital with 554 staffed beds. The facility operates as a comprehensive teaching hospital providing advanced emergency services, trauma care, and specialty medical services. The emergency department maintains high patient volumes with 170-200 daily census and approximately 175 visits per day across 53 rooms and 68 beds. The facility is designated as a Certified Comprehensive Stroke Center and provides interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and transportation services.
