Medical Assistant Brooklyn, NY

Base Pay Range: $24.00/hr $25.00/hr

Are you an experienced MEDICAL ASSISTANT providing excellent patient care? We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team. Fluency in Mandarin, Cantonese, or Fuzhounese is preferred but not required.

Location: Brooklyn, NY

Setting: On-site

Schedule: Monday Friday 8:00 am 5:00 pm (1 hour lunch)

Responsibilities

• Perform routine medical functions consistently and accurately, respecting participants' privacy and dignity.
• Conduct venipuncture and collect specimens in accordance with Infection Control protocols.
• Process and manage laboratory tests, ensuring accuracy and timely communication with physicians.
• Maintain and order lab supplies, ensuring examination offices are fully stocked.
• Perform EKGs and routine tests such as dipstick, blood finger stick glucose, and INR.
• Adhere to safety procedures and infection control standards as per OSHA and CLHC Health Services policy.
• Assist participants with mobility and daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and safety.
• Provide translation services and assist with setting up and cleaning medical equipment.
• Address customer issues promptly and courteously, collaborating with other departments as needed.
• Coordinate follow-up visits and transportation for participants.
• Offer coverage for the Front Desk Area when necessary.
• Take initiative to seek feedback and additional education to enhance job performance.

Requirements

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent, with medical technician and vision screening training.
• Experience: At least one year of venipuncture experience, preferably with the elderly population. Must be computer literate.
• License/Registration: Medical Assistant Certification (must be a certified Phlebotomist); EKG certification.
